So with Eurovision over for another year, the battle between nations has finished. Or has it?
A number of Eurovision stars are releasing new music and I have the best of them right here for you to check out.
Donny Montell, who was this year’s entry for Lithuania, has just dropped his brand new single ‘FLY’ which is written and produced by dream team Charlie Mason and Jonas Thander. Mason has worked with the biggest names in Eurovision including writing the winning song ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ for Conchita Wurst in 2014. I am also a slight bit biased here as Charlie wrote my former boyband Labelled’s music and also my debut solo single (both of which were a while ago now). Jonas is a big name in music also having produced music for Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. I personally thought Donny’s entry in the ESC in May ‘Waiting For This Night’ was one of the best pop songs in the show and he is back with another extremely catchy track.
Last year’s winner and the host of this years event Mans Zelmerlow has brought out another stomper of a song following his chart topping winning song ‘Heroes’ last year. The video see’s Mans hovering over a beautiful city but there is not a sight of rain, or fire for that matter. He performed this track as part of the interval act at this year’s Final in Stockholm on hover-boards surrounded by special video graphics which seem to be his thing now.
More Swedes who have released new music this week include Melodifestivalen (Eurovision pre-selection show for Sweden) favourites Ace Wilder and cheeky chappies Samir and Viktor (although neither act actually competed at Eurovision yet, I’m sure they will be there someday).
‘Fick Feeling’ is sure to be playing all over Sweden right now. Samir & Viktor (who come from shows similar to Geordie Shore) certainly know how to deliver a catchy song which gets you moving. The duo missed out on representing Sweden this year but tried everything in their power to get the Swedish vote for their song ‘Bada Nakna’ including stripping on stage. Better luck next time lads!
Ace Wilder just keeps on upping her game and will 100% be at Eurovision some day. Her new single just dropped and is called ‘Selfish’. She has competed at Melfest two years in a row now and both year’s came very close to winning, could it be third time lucky for Ace? Judging by this song I think she would do great at ESC.
So that is 1 Lithuanian and 3 Swedes, what other Eurovision acts new music are you listening to?
