The Voice US have been rocked to the core as one of it’s most successful acts was shot dead over the weekend.
Christina Grimmie came 3rd in the 2014 season and on Friday she was shot dead after performing with her band ‘Before You Exit’ in Orlando, Florida.
The 22 year old who was coached by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine left the gig to greet fans and sign autographs when a crazed gunman shot her before turning the gun on himself. Grimmie didn’t die at the scene which prompted her coach Levine to Instagram a support message but sadly it wasn’t enough and she died shortly afterwards.
The singers brother wrestled the gunman to the ground but the damage was irreparable at this point. Adam Levine had signed Grimmie to his record label and supported her in the past couple of years.
Is it safe to go out to a concert now? And why take the life of a young girl and musician who had everything ahead of her?
American TV network NBC have issued statements on the matter and have sent their condolences to her family at this sad time. Fans were left distraught after being caught up in the incident at the merchandise table where Christina Grimmie was signing autographs. Another life gone too soon.
